Pennsylvania’s Field Guide to Aquatic Invasive Species

The Pennsylvania  Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Field Guide can help you identify new AIS infestations and slow or stop their spread in Pennsylvania’s waterways.

The field guide includes the following sections: tips on how to use the guide, how to prevent the spread of AIS, and how to properly collect and report specimens.

“Species profiles” highlight important characteristics to distinguish AIS from other species. Profiles are separated by taxa and include: aquatic and facultative plants, invertebrates, fish, pathogens, algae, and reptiles/amphibians.

The full field guide is available for download by clicking here (low resolution) or, is available below to download by section of interest.
